This page contains art work that did not meet one or more technical requirements of the 2015 contest but were deemed to be of sufficient artistic merit that we wanted to display them. The first five received a special commendation.

It is also an entry to the NASA/NSS Space Settlement Design Contest 2015. This space settlement is a stepping stone to propagate the concept of space research. Luma

Description: The setting of my drawing, Luma, refering to light, as in light guiding us to the future, depicts an astronaut in a futuristic space suit heading towards an unknown planet. That planet seemed as if it can exhibit life. The astronaut works for ISRO which is an Indian organization and I believe that all the young people of India will once make my painting come to reality. Tools Used: My artwork is made using poster colors with a base coating and pencil shading after that to give it a more realistic and deep effect. I used oil pastels and water colors also for the planet. The stars in the background are made using a technique called spray painting.

Aliens – Our Distant Friends

Human Settlement on Mars
